Oil poured from a small bottle into an open palm, to taste

The audience for olente is already in your shop, but they’re leaving empty-handed.

The everyday cook

Cooks four nights a week, has stopped buying supermarket oil, and will not spend €35 on a bottle they’ll suffer whenever they open.

The one from the internet

Saw Graza and Goldi, find them cool. Cannot get them in Europe and/or would rather it were Italian. Cares who picked it and how well they were paid.

The pro

The wine bar, the deli, the small kitchen that wants a house oil it isn’t embarrassed to put on the table and can afford to pour freely.

The middle of this category is dying.
Both ends are growing.

7.5 L

Italian consumption per capita was dropped in the last decade from 12 litres per year. The cheap middle is losing market, while the top remains.

+19%

Growth in German premium olive oil imports year on year. Nordics +14%, UK +12%.

€18.95

Nobody aims for this price, because it's risky. High-end Tuscan olive oil sits at €28—45 even in Italy, and gets saved for guests. Own-label sits at €8 and gets no respect.

Contemporary-urban & authentically Italian; well designed & priced for everyday: we embrace these tensions and position ourselves in a space no brand ever did.

American brands proved the appetite in the US for that approach, but with Spanish oil.

We're going the genuine European way, with an oil that was once considered a rarity.

(Great)

Cooking begins and ends with olive oil.

Olive oil is the one ingredient that doesn’t work alone. It’s there when you sauté the garlic, it’s there again when you finish the salad: at a table with too many people around it and not enough chairs.

Friends squeezed around a white-clothed bistro table

Our purpose is to

reignite the joys of dinner nights with friends.

Full tables, delicious chaos, “could you please pass me the salad?”

We craft olente as more than a delicious oil: as fuel for social life.

That is who we are, so we made it our brand. And that’s how we help you sell:

not a gift-box oil that’s forgotten until Christmas dinner, but the tin that gets finished twice a month because of too many dinner nights.

Il Precoce

Our firstborn, and the reason we do any of this. Frantoio and Leccino, picked in the first week of October while the olives are still green and stubborn. Early fruit gives you less oil, but it’s a beautiful, thick one that is just perfect fo everything you can think of.

This is the oil Tuscans keep next to the stove, not a souvenir.

Tastings

Alla Toscana: bread, oil, salt, nothing else. We bring somebody who was on picking olives in October and can answer any question about it.

Pop-ups

A long table and a fixed menu. We cook, people eat. Oh yeah, of course we eat too. Paired with natural wine from a partner vineyard, it has never failed to get people glowing.

Recipes

Real people with a real face, and the joy to share their story and the recipes that came with them.

Harvest

Come and pick with us in October. Bring your friends, bring your cook, bring gloves.
